Ah, the talk page. Feel free to chat it up here, just be decent. I'll respond to messages on both your and my pages.

My RfA and your vote[edit]

Hello once again Orannis,
Thanks for participating in my RFA! Ultimately, no consensus was reached, but I still appreciate the fact that you showed up to add in your two cents. Unless I am mistaken, this was your first RFA vote, was it not? Well, I'm sorry it didn't return better news...I hope you keep adding your opinion to things like RfAs and AfDs—it'll help you meet new people on the encyclopedia. Perhaps some day you'll become an administrator! You certainly have the right attitude. You can feel free to talk to me about it or add some advice on my improvement page.

Sincerely, The ikiroid (talk·desk·Advise me)

What's in a name?[edit]

The first time I saw your name, I definitely thought it was a reference to the song Come and I Will Sing You but now I am curious as to the link between that song and the Nine_Bright_Shiners! DukeEGR93 04:45, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome back[edit]

Nice to see you back again, Orannis. I wasn't sure if you were bonked or busy, but in any case, I'm happy you didn't leave. On another note, I wasn't aware that Jimbo Wales watches Lost......to tell you the truth, I've never watched the show, but people tell me good things about it. By the way, have you thought of joining a wikiproject that appeals to you? It makes editing a lot easier—instead of wandering by the ebb and flow of your own mind, you have a definite goal, and it helps keep an editor on track. I know that my first five months on wikipedia were very low rates of editing....only after I committed myself did I start doing things. Perhaps it'll help you, maybe not; you are probably busy enough right now outside of wikipedia. Anyway, cheers, The ikiroid (talk·desk·Advise me) 20:03, 15 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, by the way, I wrote an essay here. The ikiroid (talk·desk·Advise me) 20:19, 15 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Orannis, just made a few edits to your sandbox, and I think that (minus a few bits re: 8th precinct :) ), that this article is above stub quality and should move into the main namespace.

A quick reminder from your friendly neighborhood Nihiltres 01:19, 19 October 2006 (UTC) :)[reply]

I did some work on this, which may neeed some fixing up. cheers Megalodon99 | Talk 00:13, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As I just noted directly in the sandbox, I think I remember where the quote is, even if I haven't had the time to find it. Nihiltres 16:14, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Go ahead and copy it over! It's complete. Since I remembered where the quote was, I found it pretty quickly. Pages 305-306 in my hardcover version. There isn't much info though - the only thing that could be added is that the patches of flame look like oily scum is burning whenever they stand still. Nihiltres 23:54, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Orannis! :)[edit]

Smile a little, smile a little, all along the road;
Every life must have its burden, every heart its load.
Why sit down in gloom and darkness with your grief to sup?
As you drink Fate's bitter tonic, smile across the cup.

Smile upon the troubled pilgrims whom you pass and meet;
Frowns are thorns, and smiles are blossoms, oft for weary feet.
Do not make the way seem harder by a sullen face;
Smile a little, smile a little, brighten up the place.

Smile upon your undone labour; not for one who grieves
O'er his task waits wealth or glory; he who smiles achieves.
Though you meet with loss and sorrow in the passing years,
Smile a little, smile a little... even through your tears!

Ella Wheeler Wilcox

Have a beautiful day, dear Orannis! :)

My dear O :)[edit]

My dear Orannis, how can I be anything but nice with someone who has displayed my picture at his own userpage for so long? ;) Let me tell you, your message was refreshing and you made me laugh whne I needed the most, after a hard day of bitter wiki-work. While I can't be on a permanent good wikimood, I know I'll always be able to smile when I think about you. I'll leave you for now with a beautiful smile; here's to a new wikifriendship, one that I hope will last for many, many years! ;) Love you, Phaedriel - 04:45, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
