AfD nomination of The Status of Medjugorje[edit]

The Status of Medjugorje, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that The Status of Medjugorje satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Status of Medjugorje and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of The Status of Medjugorje during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Hammer1980·talk 19:15, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It may seem counter-intuitive, but even if text is made available "free" for non-commercial use,[1] wikipedia still can't use it. Wiki pages may, in fact, be used by anyone, even for a profit. A non-commercial-use-only page would limit that. Please consider adding your own original content, with references, to the Medjugorje page. Gimmetrow 05:01, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Verification of permission[edit]

Hello. I was just stopping by to see if you had made any progress with the Communications Committee on verify permission for Status of Medjugorje. The 7 day grace period we usually allot for this verification process has passed, but since this one is more complex than many, I thought to check and see if you had made progress. Please let me know if you have taken additional steps, either here or at the article's talk page. Thanks. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 15:40, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Update regarding copyright concern[edit]

Since we do not yet have verification of permission by the processes set out which we discussed elsewhere (some of which has been moved to Talk:Our Lady of Međugorje) and since sufficient time has passed since the placement of the notice, the article has been deleted for copyright concerns. This deletion is not necessarily permanent. If you have already sent a letter to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL), the article will be restored when that letter is received and processed by the Wikimedia Communications committee. Likewise, if you have not yet sent a letter, you still may (or resend it, if you believe your original may have been lost), and the article will be restored when that letter is received and processed.

As Wikipedia does not require proof of identity on account creation, it is essential that we receive external proof of authorization in order to ensure that we remain compliant with US Copyright law. It is also essential that we verify that copyright holders understand the extent of the release they are authorizing, in that GFDL permits modification and reuse in any forum, even commercial publication, as long as authorship credit is maintained.

If you have questions about the verification procedure, please feel free to contact me at my talk page. Alternatively, you might address them at the talk page of the copyright policy, which is generally monitored by volunteers experienced in processing such matters. Thank you. Your note[edit]

Thanks for your note. I've responded here. My talk page automatically archives. If you don't come back within the next five days or so, please look for your response in my most recent archive (should be User talk:Moonriddengirl/Archive 11.) In that case, please don't write any response you may have there, or I'll never know you answered. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 22:10, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
