CodeGear (threaded)[edit]

I'm a bit curious - why did you delete the CodeGear article? I mean, sure, it was an extremely short stub, but the topic is a valid one, since it's the new company for the Developer Tools Group at Borland, and thus the new home of their Delphi programming language, such as Delphi. --Pidgeot (t) (c) (e) 17:41, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you were aware I deleted it, the reason for deletion can be inferred from the following comment:
  • 11:16, November 15, 2006 Freakofnurture (Talk | contribs | block) deleted "CodeGear" (content was: 'The new name of the Borland spin-off that's going to handle the development tools. Previously code-named DevCo.' (and the only contributor was 'Mgenereu'))
The article was deleted because it gave insufficient context for expansion, see WP:CSD#A1. —freak(talk) 19:41, Nov. 15, 2006 (UTC)
That same criteria mentions this:
Limited content is not in itself a reason to delete if there is enough context for the article to qualify as a valid stub.
WP:STUB states:
A stub is an article that is too short to provide encyclopedic coverage of the subject, but not so short as to provide no useful information.
The text (very, very briefly) explained what CodeGear is, where they come from, and what they will be doing. I wouldn't consider that a lack of context, and it IS a stub, since it does provide at least some useful information (though not much, due to the short length).
That being said, the discussion is pretty moot by now, since a new article has been created. --Pidgeot (t) (c) (e) 16:57, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
