Your false positive report...[edit]

Hi, Poppymae! I saw your report of a false positive from the edit filter. It looks like this was indeed a false positive; that is, we've set up an automated system to try and filter out some vandalism before it gets posted; your edit was mistakenly flagged by this automated system as vandalism. Sorry about that! There's nothing personal in it; these kinds of mistakes happen from time to time.

Now, that said, I looked at the edit you were trying to make, and it's probably better that it didn't go through. You see, the page Carol Hanley already exists; right now, it redirects visitors to the character list for EastEnders. This is because Carol is probably not independently notable enough for her own, standalone article. This kind of mistake happens all the time, so no worries! But in order to have an article on a character, that character must have received significant coverage in multiple, independent, reliable sources (speecifically the character, not just incidental coverage in the course of covering the show as a whole). That's why she has an entry on the list, but not her own page.

If you have any questions about this or other Wikipedia issues, feel free to ask the Teahouse, which is a great place for new users to ask for any help they need. Thanks! Writ Keeper 21:23, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
