Yes I also feel terrible. Moreover I don't dare to watch pictures of this disaster as those pictures are really recognisable for me. Unfortunately none of my friends and family is affected by this disaster. Meursault2004 11:01, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Indonesia geo stubs

[edit]

Hi SatuSoro - usually if a country is split it's either into the major administrative regions, although if there's a city-specific WikiProject then one city might get its own stub. At 300 stubs, the category isn't one that's really a high priority to split yet (there are countries with 600-800 stubs that are currently going through splits). But if you think that there's one area of the country that could effectively split the stubs in two, then it might be worthwhile (perhaps something like a Java-geo-stub or Sumatra-geo-stub, rather than one for a specific city). In any case, the best thing to do is to do propose any split at WP:WSS/P - the usual threshold for a split is about 60 stubs, so if you could, say, show that there are more than sixty geo-stubs from one particular part of the country then you'd probably get some support for it. Grutness...wha? 07:09, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, that is a blast from the past! It's great to see people working on Indonesian articles here - I wish I had time to do more, though the few score articles I'm involved with are as much as I can manage. -- Danny Yee 12:54, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, last resort is probably right, often becomes quite obvious in the end. .--Dakota ~ 00:18, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Satu,

Thanks for your comments regarding AutoWikiBroswer and my removal of the stub tag from the WCT article. I assure you, my removal of the stub tag was not intended to irritate you. Really! :) It's only that AWB recommends removal of stub tags after an article reaches a certain length, and I generally do not check the edit histories of each page before making the decision to remove a stub tag, if AWB recommends it. I see Chuq has remedied the situation by placing WCT in a category, so it won't be an orphan. I reccommend doing this for any article you're still keeping as a 'stub' so it won't be an orphan, because any time someone uses AWB, they're going to get that same alert, and, I assume, remove the tag, without knowing the history of the page. Adding categories to the article eliminates the orphan problem altogether. Hope there aren't any hard feelings; I wasn't trying to remove your edits, I was just focused on the AWB alerts. Happy editing! :) --Firsfron of Ronchester 06:50, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
