Protection[edit]

I've considered protecting my userpage, and decided against it. Thank you for your suggestion, though. DS 17:11, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on SouthernMedia's News Music Search Archive, by Discospinster, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because SouthernMedia's News Music Search Archive is an article about a certain website, blog, forum, or other web content that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles, as well as notability guidelines for websites. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting SouthernMedia's News Music Search Archive, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate SouthernMedia's News Music Search Archive itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 03:06, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Userboxes[edit]

If you would like it to look like mine, add: {{Userboxtop}} <<Place userboxes between the two templates>> {{Userboxbottom}}. For a list of parameter, such as color, alignment, title: see Template:Userboxtop. If need any more help, don't hesitate to contact me again. --WillMak050389 03:42, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

{{User Pennsylvania}} is the only one that exists of those four (at least that I can find), but there are very similar ones. Check out {{User:Veracious Rey/conservative republican}}, {{User:Alethiophile/Pro life 4}}. The Anti-ACLU userbox was deleted for being an "attack" userbox, though I believe it should not be hurtful to express my view of not supporting them. Anyway, if you would like those three boxes to look exactly like I have them on my page, copying the code and placing it anywhere inside of "Userboxtop" and "Userboxbottom" should work.

Unfortunately, I am not too good at computer code, asking at Template talk:Userboxtop would probably have the best results with people who know the template best. --WillMak050389 22:51, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Apologies[edit]

No need to apologize. Your edits were done in good faith and one the pillars of Wikipedia is to be bold in editing an article. I was under the impression that WJET & WFXP, when they combined their websites into Yourerie.com, were the first ones in Erie to add video. I could have easily been the one who was wrong. Had that been the case, you could have just added it back with a reference and no one could complain. If you do happen to come across something that says WSEE was the first in Erie to have video on their web site, cite it and add it back.

If have any questions or need help with anything let me know. --Dtbohrertalkcontribs 22:40, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Erie TV[edit]

I never noticed that television in Erie was in the "dark ages". I guess I think watching TV online is still a novelty. Also, (depending on the type of TV you have and where you live) you can pick up digital television signals from WJET, WQLN, & WFXP (WICU says they have it but I can't get it). --Dtbohrertalkcontribs 23:47, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was talking about the graphics used in their newscasts.
Come to think of WICU & WSEE's graphics are a little primitive, I usually watch WJET (who has better graphics). WFXP's isn't that bad either. Do you think their better because of the fact that are owned by Nexstar Broadcasting? --Dtbohrertalkcontribs 20:24, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think WSEE's are primitive.
To each their own. --Dtbohrertalkcontribs 16:47, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
BTW, what is your favorite news music from Erie? 71.116.41.201 02:31, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Personally, I love the opening of WJET. I actually have the sound clip on my computer. --Dtbohrertalkcontribs 18:21, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Which open is it? The only one I know is the current one. I faintly remember the WSEE and WICU opens from the early 1990's. I think WSEE's open from 1994, I remember had "NEWSWATCH" scrolling across a blue textured screen. It still used the same music back then. I wish it was still 1994 so I can remember. But, I am trying to find the early 90s opening to WICU 12. Sean90 13:25, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I like the current opening of WJET. I don't think I paid too much attention to the news in the '90s. You should see if WICU keeps all of the old broadcasts on tape. Maybe you would be able to get one. --Dtbohrertalkcontribs 18:45, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't mean the graphics, I meant just the lower-thirds. Sean90 17:14, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The ACLU[edit]

Personally, I am not very politically active. I know my beliefs and stances on issues, but I do not usually study politics. The ACLU is predominately liberalist, whereas I am a pretty staunch conservative. My views of their actions have lead me to believe that their agenda is not what I believe in. That being said, I must confess that my views are very biased. The little that I do read about politics is obviously from a conservative perspective. What I most remember about the ACLU are the frivolous lawsuits that they bring up. Mainly situations where a worker has injured himself, disregarding whether the fault is of the person or the company. My favorite story I heard in Liberalism Is a Mental Disorder: Seong Sil Kim v. New York City Transit Authority, where Seong Sil Kim was given $9.9 million because she stood in front of a train to commit suicide and injured her hand. This, to me, is the epitome of frivolous. Whjat are your views of them? --WillMak050389 04:12, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I was born and raised in a conservative family, and I learned about the ACLU from the news and I heard they discriminate against Christianity, which I believe is religious intolerance. I bet you $1 Million dollars all crime rates will go down if the ACLU only let official prayer back in public schools. Sean90 12:49, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, the ACLU are a group of dedicated progressives who hate the abuse of power by ruling elites who use the State to violate the basic rights of man. These violators of basic human rights are often the real hypocrites such as those in the US government, the leader of international terrorism. The ACLU opposes this in favor of upholding democratic principals. Religion can be used by terrorists too, or for good. I like the good ones but not the Christian facists. I am glad the ACLU opposes them.DrGabriela 06:05, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WJET[edit]

I'm not sure where you saw this userbox, but I don't think I've ever watched WJET in Erie. I live in Pittsburgh right now for college and I grew up in Johnstown and Altoona, so I don't think I've ever seen WJET. Sorry about the confusion. Hope you're having a good day! --WillMak050389 18:42, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Houseofcardss.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Houseofcardss.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:32, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The file File:Userbox Link Stationary.gif has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Personal file, no foreseeable encyclopedic use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
