Simon Bauer 151/Track+

Track+ is a web-based project management and bug tracking system. It is used in many projects for task management and issue tracking. The free version is limited to five users. Track+ uses a Web server or application server such as Tomcat or JBoss, and a database server such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or FirebirdSQL. Operations (Issues) can be entered by users with appropriate privileges and then assigned to a processor. Each operation goes through a life cycle that is characterized by a state and a responsible person. Each operation can be linked to descriptions, documents of any kind and references to other operations. Operations can also be organized hierarchically.

Track+ interpretation of a process is rather general. For example, a process can be a request, an error (bug), a message concerning a problem, a milestone, a risk, etc. Users can define different types of processes and each type can be linked with its own workflow. Overviews can be displayed in textual form or graphically, e.g. as Gantt charts.

Demands for the execution environment

The page of the manufacturer contains following demands:

• a compatible data bank server (often a version of [[MySQL], Microsoft SQL Server] or Oracle)
• a suitable web server or application server, e.g. Tomcat, JBoss, WebSphere etc.
• a suitable mail server which is accessible by SMTP
