February 2024[edit]

Is there a reason all your edits involve incorrectly removing periods from the end of sentences? Mindmatrix 12:25, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Elim Garak, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Adakiko (talk) 12:07, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

The information in the article that I removed is not canon. The sources sited are an interview which per Paramount, the owner of the IP, are not canon. Only the shows and films are canon. Srouse501 (talk) 02:13, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I'm a Trek fan, so I can tell you that Wikipedia is not interested in what is canon and what isn't. Memory Alpha is the place to go if you are interested in that sort of thing. Wikipedia articles summarize what independent reliable sources say about a topic irrespective of canon. This means that if Andrew Robinson or the DS9 staff say Elim Garak was intended or viewed as a gay character, that is valid content for Wikipedia. You are free to your own personal beliefs as to what is canon or what is important and what isn't, but we summarize everything. You also don't address your gaming of the system apparently to obtain advanced permissions- the system exists for a reason. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 08:51, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
