Welcome![edit]

Hello, Tamiaporter1, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Adam and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Page move[edit]

Hi, it might not have been your intention, but you moved User:Tamiaporter1/sandbox to Tamiaporter1/sandbox (in the main article namespace). I've just moved it back. — Smjg (talk) 18:34, 17 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback[edit]

Hi! Your professor wanted me to give you some feedback on your sandbox.

My main concern is that your draft reads a lot like a student essay rather than an encyclopedia article, as the tone is too casual and doesn't really fit Wikipedia's WP:MoS. Avoid things like "So, do we stop all this?", where you ask questions of the audience and also avoid having original research where you draw your own conclusions. One of the things to remember is that an encyclopedia article should only contain content that has been explicitly stated by a reliable source, which should be written in a succinct and neutral fashion. The sources also need work, as you cannot use Urban Dictionary as a source because anyone can create a definition there and the content has little to no editorial oversight at best. The only time that stuff like that should be included is when it's been covered in a reliable source, preferably an academic one. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 02:01, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
