Welcome!

Hello, Thesavagenorwegian/Archives, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. A tag has been placed on Escape the, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is an article about a certain website, blog, forum, or other web content that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles, as well as notability guidelines for websites. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on Talk:Escape the. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Thanks. Accounting4Taste 03:38, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

docile

unbelivable! i was just reading one artice with word "docile" in it. since it was unfamilar to me i searched and came to article that was made only couple seconds!!! before. really rare event! Luka Jačov (talk) 14:42, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Docile

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Docile, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Wikipedia isn't a dictionary.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Hey!

Hey Thesavagenorwegian, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thanks for the enthusiasm for editing, and especially for creating linked-to articles such as docile. The reason I marked it for deletion is because dictionary definitions are handled by Wiktionary rather than Wikipedia. It's a subtle difference between what count as an encyclopedia and what is a dictionary, outlined here, and one that can be pretty subtle. I just wanted to let you know that your article was marked for deletion not because it's a bad article, but because of the encyclopedia/dictionary thing. The links that point to docile should probably be changed... I can go do that. But thanks again for the edits, and please feel free to write back if you need any help. If you're interested in creating new articles, you may want to check out the list of requested articles. All the best, FlyingToaster 15:10, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Speaking of stuff, You know how you can give kittens to people?

Why can't you eat those too?

TheSavageNorwegian 20:22, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

To give a kitten, just add {{subst:kitten}} to someone's talk page. FlyingToaster 20:29, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Re: Adoption

Hey Thesavagenorwegian - thanks for the kind note! I'd be happy to adopt you if you're still interested. Just let me know and we can talk about what kind of programme you'd like to do.  :) FlyingToaster 14:40, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

adjunct to your adoption

Hi... I've been on Wikipedia for over 2 years. As an adjunct to your current adoption, I can sorta hang out and answer questions, if you like. Extremely informal process. No program or plan. Just drop me a question any time. Ling.Nut (talkWP:3IAR) 10:36, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

Signature

TheSavageNorwegian 19:54, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Woah, late response!

I'm sorry about that; for some reason I thought I'd replied to you already. If you want the whole "Wikipedia noob" to "Wikipedia 1337" track, perhaps we could do this as a series of lessons - Ill give you an assignment and explain the concept, and then you can try it out.

Perhaps we should start out by getting your signature setup. Have you already done this, so that you can write ~~~~ and sign your custom sig automatically? FlyingToaster 18:34, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Oh yes, I'm happy to adopt you!  :) Awesome that you figured out the signature thing - it's a bit tricky. I wanted to make sure you weren't manually pasting that cool sig each time. The tilde should be above your tab button - hold down shift before you press it. FlyingToaster 20:31, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
It's not a problem, mate. :D FlyingToaster 20:10, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Why did you revert my edit on User:Big Dan 1985? This user has been blocked indefinitely for persistent vandalism. Thus, {{indefblockeduser}} should be placed on Big Dan's user page. Will you please re-add that template to the page? Thanks, Cunard (talk) 02:18, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Re: adoption box

Hey Thesavagenorwegian - I went ahead and changed your userbox to say you're adopted. :D FlyingToaster 17:25, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Good revert!

Hey Thesavagenorwegian - good work with the vandalism reversion here. If you're interested in vandalism and keep the good edits up, eventually you can get the user right of rollback, which allows you to do quick & easy reversions. Also, eventually you may also want to warn users if they have been committing vandalism. The list of warnings with an explanation is here, but that can be pretty confusing, so please feel free to ask if you need any help. FlyingToaster 05:34, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Re: The absent-minded newbie

No big deal Thesavagenorwegian - thanks for the note. :) FlyingToaster 19:37, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Vandalism ahoy

Hey Thesavagenorwegian! It's great to see you doing some excellent vandalism work lately, and warning the IPs appropriately. I know manually editing those tags can be a pain, but hang in there - once you get rollback, things get quicker. Also, I'm really impressed at how well you've learned the warning level system. I tried to find something to give you constructive feedback on, but there wasn't much! One is to make sure that you're not double-warning the user by warning them about vandalism they've already been warned about, like happened here. Sometimes bots automatically revert vandalism, and it's difficult to tell there's an overlap. Thanks, FlyingToaster 07:38, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Re: Re: Vandalism Ahoy

Only administrators can block accounts, but if someone has committed vandalism after the last warning, you should report them to WP:AIV, along with a short description of what vandalism has gone on, and diffs of that person committing the recent vandalism (if they can be provided). The reports that are there can serve as a guide on how to structure them. FlyingToaster 20:41, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Rollback

You're doing excellent vandalism revision work, and growing in all ways as an editor. I've granted you rollback - you deserve better tools. Happy editing to you, and have an excellent vacation. FlyingToaster 18:36, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

Seasons of Life

Whoa, that headline was serious. Too serious for my liking. As you can see, I created this account in 2007, edited one article, and left. Pretty boring, right? Well, I did it again in April 2009, and failed once more. I would have quit again, if not for one person, Flying Toaster. She welcomed me in again, and encouraged me to become the best Wikipedian I could be. I'm certainly not a well-seasoned editor yet, but I'm quickly learning and I hope to someday to be as good an editor as my mentor, Flying Toaster. Thanks for listening.
