June 2013[edit]

Hello, I'm Yintan. I wanted to let you know that I removed an external link you added to the page Tanning because it seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thanks.  Yinta 08:47, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Vitiligo with this edit. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links may include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you.  Yinta 08:47, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I just wanted to let you know that I undid every single change you made to Wikipedia, where you inserted external links to pages like www.vitiligoguide.com and will keep doing so. As mentioned above this is spam and does not belong on Wikipedia. You are more than welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, since we can always use more contributors. But if you keep adding these links I and others will keep removing them. So why not save us both some time and stop adding them. If you have any questions to why I did what I did or have any questions you are more than welcome to write on my talk-page. JakobSteenberg (talk) 09:03, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.
