Welcome![edit]

Hello, Tuca1861, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! January 2022[edit]

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. 331dot (talk) 10:00, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

My current username does not represent my real name and its confusing others in a way that is not my intention. I did not wish to advertise here. I just tired to translate the page from bengali to english. I did not know that it would look like an advertisement. Please unblock my account and let me continue being an wikipedian.

Decline reason:

I have merged your requests, as you only need a single request. Do you have an association with the topic? 331dot (talk) 14:02, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

331dot, The user clearly came here to promote and probably has connection. 8 days ago, the user asked me why the university article isn't showing up on google. Some user adviced him to create article on enwiki, so google knowledge pannel will quickly pick it up.
I advise him to contribute on other than the TUCA article but since then the user never came on bnwiki. Here, it looks like we moved Tagore University of Creative Arts on main namesoace, so, i guess, the main purpose of the user has been successful. --আফতাবুজ্জামান (talk) 21:50, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for my interruption. I don't know if i am supposed to reply here or not. I dont know how to reply in this page(i dont see the reply option anywhere like bnwiki). So, first thing i want to say is that i did not come here to promote or advertise about this university. All i wanted was to create a page about this university. I did not know the regulation or word choice that is suitable for wikipedia. As i said on my appeal, i have just translated the page from bengali to english. Nobody hired me or asked me to do this for the university. And i did not know that being connected with the institute is against the rules.

আফতাবুজ্জামান sir, as i said on your talk page. i still dont have full idea about all the rules, as you can see, i just got blocked just for translating the page.(atleast from my point of view, as i dont know the word choice correctly). So, its pretty clear that i am not suitable for contributing on wiki. look, i cant even publish an article about the institute i know best, how can i write about other things? I dont know how can i convince you guys that i really did not come here to advertise. I have nothing else to say, its upto you guys now. All i can do now is to hope to get unblocked so that i can learn more and contribute Tuca1861 (talk) 06:22, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Googling his name shows that he is the Deputy Director of Communications at the University (PR).Vinegarymass911 (talk) 03:40, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Suvojit Das, as long as editing Wikipedia could plausibly fall within your job duties, you must declare as a paid editor. See WP:PAID. 331dot (talk) 10:07, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No sir, editing wikipedia is not my job. Although i work here its not one of my or anyone's responsibility to edit or add pages on wikipedia. I just felt like creating a page on wikipedia about this university. thats all. SHUVO 13:34, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you work in the Communications department of the university, this is a form of communication and as such you are a paid editor. This is indisputable. It doesn't have to be a stated duty of your job. WP:PAID states "Users who are compensated for any publicity efforts related to the subject of their Wikipedia contributions are deemed to be paid editors, regardless of whether they were compensated specifically to edit Wikipedia." 331dot (talk) 13:49, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
