Sept. 2008[edit]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Alien vs. Predator (film). Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. There is no "paradox". Lance Henriksen appears in 3 Alien films as 3 different characters. In Aliens he plays the android Bishop. In Alien 3 he plays a character credited as "Bishop II" who claims to have designed the android. In Alien vs. Predator, which is set hundreds of years before Aliens, he plays Charles Bishop Weyland, founder of Weyland Industries. These are 3 different characters played by the same actor in 3 different films which are set hundreds of years apart from one another. You can read more about this in the article Bishop (Aliens). Please stop editing the Alien vs. Predator (film) article to say that Charles Bishop Weyland's death in Alien vs. Predator creates a "paradox" with the appearance of Bishop II in Alien 3. It is simply not true and constitutes original research, which is forbidden on Wikipedia. If you continue to make this edit it will be treated as vandalism and you may be blocked from editing. --IllaZilla (talk) 06:49, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

in alien 3 he states he is not an android and the real deal so watch it if you dont believe me
I am well aware of what happens in Alien 3, thanks. Again, I suggest you read the article Bishop (Aliens). Whether "Bishop II" (which is what the character's name is listed as in the film's credits) is a human or not, he's not the same character as Charles Bishop Weyland from Aliens vs. Predator. In fact, the novelization of the film names him "Michael Bishop". I'm sure you can see that neither the name "Bishop II" nor "Michael Bishop" are the same as "Charles Bishop Weyland". The 2 films are set at least 175 years apart from each other, so unless you believe that, had he not been killed by the Predator, Charles Bishop Weyland would have lived to be over 200 years old so he could show up in Alien 3 (which would have been tough, what with his lung cancer), then you can see how the idea of them being the same character is ludicrous. Lance Henriksen played all 3 characters; this was done in order to tie the films together thematically and continuity-wise (planting the idea that Weyland founds the company, and 175 years later an ancestor of his develops the Bishop android which he models after himself). This is not a "paradox", as they are 3 separate characters in 3 separate films. They just happen to be played by the same actor. Also, removing warnings from your talk page is not a sign of good faith. Other editors can still see the warnings, as they remain in the page history. --IllaZilla (talk) 08:52, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
