According to the source cited, Blessthefall is a screamo band. I don't believe anything's been misinterpreted, here (I've heard the band's music and I concur). But deleting things without explanation, especially when they're backed up with sources, is usually looked upon as vandalism. We can discuss further if you like. Okay. Here's the thing - there is this wave of '90s underground screamo, and people who are really into this stuff write their names into articles all the time. The problem is, a lot of those bands don't even have articles, because people aren't able to prove they're notable. It would be great if they all had articles. It would also be great if someone could fix up the screamo article to mention them. I think it would be cool if we had more information on that scene. And if you can help with that - adding reliable sources, like books and articles in magazines - it would be a big help.

The thing is, the word "screamo" is now used routinely to refer to bands in the mainstream post-hardcore scene which use a lot of screaming in their music. The word "screamo" now does refer to post-hardcore bands who scream. They're screamo bands, too - just like Louis Armstrong and Ornette Coleman are both jazz, even though they sound nothing like each other. Genres are defined by the way people use them.

Blessthefall pic[edit]

I'm afraid that that image is not likely to stay. It does fail WP:NFCC. If you want to have a picture of the band on the page, you're probably going to have to take one yourself. Chubbles (talk) 13:07, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In order for that to work, the band (or whoever holds the copyright to the image; that may be the record label, or the photographer) would have to release the photo into the public domain or allow its use under the GFDL. This is a busy band and I doubt they'd respond to a request for such a release, but if you somehow obtained that permission and could prove it to m:OTRS, then you'd be able to use the photo.
