Varappetty is a village in Ernakulam district in the Indian state of Kerala.[1] Varappetty is 7 km from Kothamangalam along Kothamangalam-Vazhakulam Road, 6 km from Muvattupuzha along Puthuppady-Oonnukal Road and 12 km from Vazhakulam in Eranakulam District.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census, Varappetty had a population of 16,886 with 8,318 males and 8,568 females.[1]

Industrial area

Punnekottayil granites and quarry productions owned by Ps Najeeb Punnekottayil.Palakkadan saw mill and plywoods owned by Basheer palakkadan.

Facilities

Varappetty has a public health center with a Resident Medical Officer and 2 other doctors on OP.

Agriculture, mainly rubber plantations, are the major cultivation of this area.

Religion

Varappetty central masjid is the mosque in the centre of the junction and Juma Masjid at inchoor, various other masjids.Mahadeva Temple Varappetty is one of the oldest Shiva temples in Kerala. Pothanakkavu is a famous temple in Varappetty. Inchoor Mar Thoma is a Jacobite Sehiyon Church. It is one of the oldest and famous churches in Kerala.
