Anticolonial protest in Goa[edit]

Original - five thousand Indians protest against colonial rule in Goa, 1955. Twenty-two civilians were killed by Portugese authorities in this peaceful demonstration.

Reason: This was an important event in the history of the Indian state of Goa. It's good to counter systemic bias when possible, and fortunately this newsreel footage was released into the public domain in 1976.

Comment, agreed, some of this Internet Archive stuff is not the greatest quality--and I have no reason to believe there aren't better versions of the stuff out there.
