I've listed this article for peer review because I am hoping this list will eventually reach FL status. I created List of awards and nominations received by Rufus Wainwright and took it up to FL status, and I hope to do the same for this Ray LaMontagne list. Any feedback would be appreciated before making this article a featured list candidate.

Thanks so much! -Another Believer (talk) 18:34, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Quick comment Does this article have a Wikiproject that it can fit in? Dabomb87 (talk) 14:21, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps WikiProject Roots music? This seems to focus on roots, folk, and traditional music. I notice there are many other featured awards lists that are not part of projects, but I could see if this list could be added to the project. -Another Believer (talk) 18:44, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Done. This list is now part of WikiProject Roots music. -Another Believer (talk) 03:34, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ruhrfisch comments: The list part seems OK, here are some suggestions for improvement of the rest.

  • Needs a copyedit - for example, the first part of the first paragraph needlessly repeats too much:
Ray LaMontagne is an American singer-songwriter. He has released three studio albums of original music: Trouble (2004), Till the Sun Turns Black (2006), and Gossip in the Grain (2008).[1] LaMontagne's debut album was released under RCA Records in September 2004 in the United States and the United Kingdom. Till the Sun Turns Black was released under RCA in August 2006 in the U.S. and under 14th Floor Records in June 2007 in the U.K. Gossip in the Grain was released under the same labels in October 2008.
  • It could be something like this and be more concise instead:
Ray LaMontagne is an American singer-songwriter who has released three studio albums of original music as of 2009.[1] LaMontagne's debut album Trouble was released on RCA Records in September 2004 in the United States and the United Kingdom. Till the Sun Turns Black was released by RCA in August 2006 in the U.S. and on 14th Floor Records in June 2007 in the U.K. Gossip in the Grain was released on the same labels in October 2008. (under seemed weird, so I used by or on instead). You get the idea...
Comment: I appreciate the suggestion. Funny thing, though... most of the times I used "on" or "by" in the past, they were changed to "under" through suggestions made. That is why I kept using "under" from then on. I will wait to see if this is brought up again in the FL nomination process.
  • New Pantheon Music Prize section seems to go into way too much detail on the history of the prize.
Comment: This is a tricky one. Today, the award is known as the Shortlist Music Prize, but the award itself has had a crazy part (former names, merged with another award, etc.) In this case, I had to explain that he actually won the New Pantheon, as that was what it was called at the time, while still making readers realize this is now known as the Shortlist.
  • Assuming this is his only album / EP to chart reaching a peak position at #119 on the Billboard 200.[2] should this be made explicit / clearer? i.e. something like reaching a peak position at #119 on the Billboard 200, his only album of EP to chart so far.[2]
Done. The EP is not the only one to chart--peak positions have been added for his albums as well.
  • I am not familiar with reliable sources for music, make sure all of the refs cited meet WP:RS

Hope this helps. If my comments are useful, please consider peer reviewing an article, especially one at Wikipedia:Peer review/backlog (which is how I found this article). Yours, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 02:07, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: I am confident the sources used are reliable. THANK YOU for your time, assistance, and suggestions! -Another Believer (talk) 04:15, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
