"Uninformed masses"?[edit]

"It only takes a few (usually new users or anonymous IPs, as more experienced users normally shy away from this type of conflict) to start the ball rolling, and before long there may be a full-fledged LynchMob going on."

I think this essay is prejudicial against new users, the "uninformed masses" as you call them. When I see a pile-on, usually on the Noticeboards, it's always experienced users who are shouting, "Off with his head! Indefinite block!" I was an IP account, for years, and, believe me, new users aren't even aware when and where these conflicts are taking place. Don't blame them for "LynchMob" mentality. Liz Read!
