Clearly, that cannot be sinful.). This is also how he solves a key problem in the Genesis text. The problem is not sex for pleasure, but lustful (i.e. sinful) sex, which results in the experience being deeply unpleasant for both Adam and Eve. undo

E.g. added โ€œsomeโ€ in front of โ€œreadersโ€ to correctly convey that some readers, not all readers had difficulty. B) All 4 authors did not say they thought Satan was the โ€œtrue heroโ€ of the poem. What they held in common was viewing Satan as โ€œa heroโ€ of it. C) Clarified that Blakeโ€™s own views on Satan differed from his interpretation of Miltonโ€™s intent. D) Added Lewisโ€™s rebuttal of Carey. E) Added more details on Empsonโ€™s criticism; plus rebuttals of him. undo Tag: Visual edit
