Gabriel Prokofiev (born 6 January 1975) is a Russian-British composer, producer, DJ, and Artistic Director of the Nonclassical record label and nightclub.[1]
Early life
Gabriel Prokofiev was born 6 January 1975 to an English mother and a Russian father, the artist Oleg Prokofiev,[2] and is the grandson of the composer Sergei Prokofiev. He studied composition at the University of Birmingham and the University of York and became a producer of Dance, Electro, Hip-hop & Grime music.[3]
Career
He founded the independent record label and club night Nonclassical in 2003,[4] as a way of bringing classical music to younger people.[3]
