Amine Lachkar (born 18 April 2003) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a Defensive midfielder for Eredivisie club Willem II.
Club career
[edit]In January 2021, Lachkar joined the Willem II U21 squad from the football academy run by former Ajax winger Nordin Wooter, and began training with the first team in July 2022.[1] Lachkar signed his first professional contract with the club in March 2023, signing a contract through the summer of 2024.[2] Later that year, Lachkar saw his first action with the first team on 12 May 2023, starting in place of the injured Matthias Verreth in a 3–0 victory over Jong FC Utrecht.[3]
On 23 January 2024, Lachkar extended his contract with Willem II, signing through the 2026–27 season.[4] Since then, Lachkar has become a regular contributor to the club, playing in 17 of the club's 38 matches in 2023–24, including starting three of the final four matches, where Willem II secured the Eerste Divisie championship and promotion back into the Eredivisie,[5] Following the team's return to the Eredivisie, Lachkar has become a default starter in the defensive midfield.
