Next time, please Be Bold rather than tagging an easy to fix problem. It will make the lives of other editors easier. OO 03:34, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

What specific edit are you talking about? I do try to fix easy problems instead of just tagging them. If you noticed that I missed something easy, it would be more helpful to let me know what it was. 38.49.72.163 (talk) 05:31, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Just the edit on Jay Kay. It's a bit of common knowledge that he sings in a band that sells albums. OO 20:26, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's a mistake to assume that what's "common knowledge" to some people is common knowledge to everyone. I had never heard of Jay Kay and had no idea what he did, which is why I was reading the article.
An encyclopedia shouldn't assume more than a minimum level of prior knowledge in its readers, like the ability to read and understand the language it's written in. Who Jay Kay is and what he does doesn't fall below that threshold. Even an article about a much more famous person than he is shouldn't assume that all readers—even all WP editors—already know what the subject does. 38.49.72.163 (talk) 07:42, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
My specific question about that article (I should have been more specific) was whether he had sold 26 million albums or 26 million singles or 26 million of some other product or combination of products. Sorry I wasn't clear about that. 38.49.72.163 (talk) 08:03, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
it's alright. i wasn't making sense to you either. wikipedia is a learning experience and we all grow from it. OO 08:26, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
