Information icon Hello, I'm Indigenous girl. I noticed that you recently removed content from Missiquoi without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please stop removing legitimate content like https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Missiquoi&diff=prev&oldid=1068513409 Indigenous girl (talk) 21:38, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at Nulhegan Band of the Coosuk Abenaki Nation, you may be blocked from editing. Please stop removing legitimate sourced content that applied to this article as you did here. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Nulhegan_Band_of_the_Coosuk_Abenaki_Nation&diff=prev&oldid=1068515708 regarding the BIA report. Indigenous girl (talk) 21:46, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

OK! I apologize I am new to editing Wikipedia pages so if I make any technical mistakes I apologize. I mostly doing this as a personal research project since I saw this was a super bare page originally and I wanted to further expand on it. historynerd224 (talk) 08:29, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

As for the removal from the nulhegan article about the controversy and the nonprofit, it just confused me because at first in the article it seemed to apply to a tribe that was not this one and so it didn’t make sense to me that it was there, and I still personally don’t really see the direct relation but I realize that as it relates to all vermont tribes as a whole I understand why it is there for historical reasons so I tried my best to expand on that whole section to better explain that rather than just remove it. One other thing I don’t quite understand is how is the whole tribe itself a nonprofit if it happens to have one? Like as an organization that tribe is still a tribal group and I figured the article was more focusing on that than on any specific endeavors they may have such as having nonprofits or other organizations like the Abanaki trails project, which is included in the article under its own section. historynerd224 (talk) 08:32, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have also been moving around some information between two pages, hence the issues in the missisquoi article, since it seems to be that the Missiquoi and Nulhegan share a lot of history. I want to make sure that articles are not sharing too much information so I’ve tried to edit here and there what quotes are in which article so that it doesn’t appear to duplicate. Again I’m not used to editing so I apologize if I made a mistake or appear to have been modifying content with the intent to change its meaning. I figured if I split certain quotes at a certain point it wouldn’t matter given the main message was still stated. historynerd224 (talk) 08:48, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This is not factual. You removed content and sources specific to Nulhegagan, https://www.raceshifting.com/abenaki-tribe-at-nulheganmemphremagog-the-nulhegan-abenaki-tribe/ and https://uofmpress.ca/books/detail/distorted-descent from the article, not simply the content referencing all tribes in Vermont in the BIA report. This was done in your very first edit in fact https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Nulhegan_Band_of_the_Coosuk_Abenaki_Nation&diff=1066923220&oldid=1064705267 Indigenous girl (talk) 18:57, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry I guess I mistook I assumed you were referencing me splitting and moving around the BIA article between the two pages because I cut off some of the quote and that's the edit you attached your message to. The removal of those sources and the whole controversy tab I did as my first edit upon looking at the page and was because as I said then I did not see how it was relating to the Nulhegan when it seemed specifically about the Missisquoi, but then you noted how it was related to me in edits and I researched it a bit more to see the connection, and moved it to the history section to expand on it.

I'm referencing all of your edits in the controversy section. You removed sourced content as well as sources. I'm not sure what your reasonings were behind it. The removal and then shortening of the BIA information seemed like deliberate erasure as did the links to and mention of the content on the Raceshifting website and Leroux's book. I do appreciate your expansion of the article, I want to make that clear however deciding that the article does not need to be balanced without even taking it to talk is a whole other thing :) Indigenous girl (talk) 20:41, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

OK, as I said I’m not familiar with Wikipedia editing protocol, and I did not know about the talk feature until somebody messaged me on it. In the future if I were to ever edit anything and saw some thing I felt did not make sense in the article I will be sure to take it to talk first. Copy of warning from SPI

[edit]

Hi Historynerd224. The following is a copy of the warning I gave at SPI. I hope you take it to heart.

If this really was a big mistake, then I wouldn't want you to retire over this, but please take to heart what others are saying about your edits, and please do not use any other accounts to edit in this topic area, and ideally just don't use any other accounts at all. Same goes for logged-out editing. This is a discretionary situation, and I'm choosing to show leniency; the same will not be true if you wind up here again. ... [You and DanCoutu] clearly share a point of view that's positive toward the same small entity. Even an appearance of tag-team editing can be detrimental to the encyclopedia, so please be careful to not do anything that could be construed that way.

OK. I appreciate you for reaching out. I genuinely had no political or personal motive to try to make it seem like I was tag teaming to attack anyone. I only intended to edit the one article I wasn’t planning on becoming a long time editor and I would be happy to not revisit it but this does feel like a very personal situation and I don’t want any drama and I definitely don’t know the other two accounts for their history with this article.
