Alphonse Royer, (10 September 1803 – 11 April 1875) was an author, librettist and theatre manager, notable for writing (with his regular collaborator, Gustave Vaëz) the librettos for Gaetano Donizetti's opera La favorite and Giuseppe Verdi's Jérusalem.

Librettos

Other works by Royer and Vaëz include French translations of Lucia di Lammermoor and Otello, and the libretto of the Rossini pastiche, Robert Bruce.
