Jeffrey Paul Bihlman, aka Jabo (Jay-bo), is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer.[1] He is the lead guitarist of the Grinder Blues band. Bihlman was awarded the Emmy award along with his band The Bihlman Bros.[2]

Early life and education

Bihlman was born in Hammond, Indiana.[3] He is a graduate in Psychology from Manchester University, he is a graduate as well from Musicians Institute (GIT).[4][5] and El Dos (2021).[6]

Career

In 1997, Bihlman formed the rock bank The Bihlman Bros. along with his brother Scot Bihlman, where he performed as the lead singer and guitarist until the split of the band in 2018.[7] The band has toured the US and Europe,[7] and performed in several places such as The Tweeter Center, the Van Andel Arena, Interlochen Center for the Arts, and the White House.[8] In 2009, the band had performed several soundtracks feature in the movie, Love N' Dancing.[9]

In the late 90s, he was the bandleader for Son Seals. Bihlman worked with Son Seals on the album, Lettin' Go which won the W.C. Handy Award.[10]

In 2014, Bihlman formed the Grinder Blues band with his brother Scot and King's X frontman Doug Pinnick,[11][12] he is currently the lead guitarist for the band.[13] The band has released two studio albums, Grinder Blues (2014)[14][15]

On April 23, 2021, Bihlman performed live at the 84th Annual National Trout Festival in Kalkaska, Michigan with Scarkazm, Dave Weber on bass and vocals, Jabo Hudson on drums and vocals, and Adam Crawford on guitar and vocals.[16]

Bihlman is a former instructor at The National Guitar Workshop, WorkshopLive, and Interlochen Center for the Arts.[17]
