Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are '''<u>required</u> by the [[wmf:TOU#paid-contrib-disclosure|Wikimedia Terms of Use]] to disclose your employer, client and affiliation.''' You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at [[User:Hamytosh]]. :Hey Throats, |

:I am not a paid editor. I just edit Ryan's page as any other editor would do. Do you manage his page or what's your interests with the edits I make? I though Wikipedia is an open ground for anyone to edit. I would also appreciate it if you tell me why you revert the changes I make on His page? Are you his manager or are you paid to work on his page? Its good to know so that i don't offend you by my innocent actions. |

- Hello Pyrrho,
- I am really grateful.
- As a newcomer, I have been trying to do edit and polish my skills.I would however need help on where to get the right citation to put on places that have been indicated that a citation is needed in an article.
- kindly assist Hamytosh (talk) 19:59, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
- You seem to be doing a good job so far. Keep up the good work and don't get discouraged if some of your edits are removed by other users. You'll improve over time. You can read this for help on finding sources, but a good Google search, using search parameters, Google News, Google Books, Google Scholar, is a great place to start looking for sources. Often, it can be very challenging and sometimes impossible to find a source where something is tagged as needing one. Reach out on my Talk Page or ping me any time. Hello Hamytosh. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Ryan Kavanaugh, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Hamytosh. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Hamytosh|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Throast (talk | contribs) 22:00, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
