Gromoboi (1899 to 22)

The Gromoboi (Громобой) (Thunderer) was an armoured cruiser built for the Imperial Russian Navy. She fought in the Russo-Japanese war being damaged at the Battle of Ulsan. She transferred to the Baltic Fleet after the war with Japan and fought in World War I. The design was an improved version of the Armoured Cruiser Rossia with extra protection.

  • Built by the Baltic Works, St Petersburg, Laid down 7th May 1898, launched 8th May 1899, commissioned November 1900, Scrapped 1922.
