Say Anything ...Is a Real Boy is the second full-length album by the rock band Say Anything, and the first album to be released by a record label. It was originally conceived as a rock opera after frontman Max Bemis found himself embarrassed at how generic his music sounded. The album was released by Doghouse Records on August 3, 2004. All songs were written by Max Bemis. Bemis was responsible for playing guitar, bass, keyboards, and singing. Drums were played by Coby Linder.

During the recording of the album, Max Bemis had a nervous breakdown and was admitted into a hospital for several weeks. He was later diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
