DiFara's Pizzeria, located at 1424 Avenue J in the Midwood section of Brooklyn, NY has been lauded repeatedly as one of the greatest pizzerias in New York. It has received accolades from Time Out New York, USAToday and the New York Times. The pizzeria has been owned and operated by legendary pizza maker Domenico DeMarco in the same location since 1964. DeMarco opened DiFara's after emigrating from the Province of Caserta, Italy in 1959. In 2003 the New York Post listed DiFara's as the number one pizzeria in New York City.

In the early 2000s Mr. DeMarco's daughter opened DeMarco's, a pizzeria at West 146 Houston Street in the Greenwich Village section of Manhattan.[1] The restaurant was the site of a fatal shooting on March 14, 2007 when a DeMarco's employee was shot by a deranged customer.[2]
