Now, '''Seaside FM 105.3''' is pro-active in encouraging members of the local area to get involved with the station, either as [[radio presenter|presenters]], technicians or managers. Most roles are voluntary-based, and therefore unpaid, but enables anyone to gain a better understanding of how a radio station operates.

As well as broadcasting they also provide editing and training services for the community, this is seen as an important part of the regeneration of the area. They have a mobile training facility in the form of a converted camper van that is fully equipped with a dual [[CD]] player, 2 [[Gramophone Record|record]] decks, [[MiniDisk]] player and mixing desk. There is also video cameras, still cameras and recording equipment on the van.

An aerial mast was erected in September and following a second Ofcom inspection visit, Seaside Radio are now awaiting the green light to commence broadcasting.

The volunteers broadcast a diverse range of music genres and talk topics to suit many interests, although at present only on the [[internet]]. This includes contemporary and traditional forms of [[Pop music|pop]], [[Rock music|rock]], [[heavy metal music|metal]], [[punk rock|punk]], [[dance]], [[trance music|trance]], [[country]] and [[European classical music|classical]]. In addition they are regularly granted interviews with moderately famous local authors, comedians, artists and musicians/bands.

Seaside FM 105.3 has had 2 sung [[jingle]]s produced by [[Steve England]] for [[Station identification]] purposes. Seaside FM 105.3 (originally known as Seaside Radio) is a community radio station based in Withernsea, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The station has previously had a Restricted Service Licence, which allowed short periods on-air.

On 7 December 2006, the station passed an Ofcom inspection and is currently preparing to broadcast on 105.3 FM full-time.

Seaside Radio Ltd. is a community based communication and entertainment radio project formed as "Seaside Radio Ltd" in 2003 by former journalist Lyz Turner. However, Seaside Radio actually dates back to Easter 2001 when a temporary radio station was set up in Keyingham, the signal was also picked up in both Withernsea and the borders of Kingston upon Hull. After the broadcast, it was thought that Seaside Radio could be developed further. A number of other small broadcasts took place in various places around then East Coast including Bridlington and Filey [1].
