Adalon is a fictional character from the video game Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn. Adalon is a silver dragon who lives in the Underdark. She is part of the plot quests and helps the protagonist get into the drow city of Ust Natha.
Overview
The protagonist's first encounter with Adalon is in a cave near the Gate to Ust Natha, where her eggs are being held captive by the drow to ensure that Adalon does not interfere with their fight with the elves. As one must be a drow to enter the city of Ust Natha, Adalon agrees to cast an illusion spell on the protagonist to make him look and sound like a drow.
After helping Phaere and the matron Mother Ardulace, the protagonist learns that Ardulace wants to summon a demon to help in the battle against the surface elves, using Adalon's eggs as an offering. Phaere wants to replace the real eggs with fake eggs (using a mark that Phaere can recognise), so that she can be the new matron.
Later, as the protagonist approaches the temple, he is met by Solaufein (assuming the protagonist saved Solaufein's life earlier). Solaufein wants Phaere dead as well, and he gives the protagonist another set of fake eggs that Phaere won't recognize.
When Mother Ardulace summons the demon, she offers the silver dragon eggs in order to get the demon's favor. However, the demon recognizes the eggs as fake and kills the matron.
If the protagonist chooses to give Phaere Soulafein's fake eggs, Phaere will be killed as well. The protagonist must then escape the city because Adalon's spell is starting to fade; if he fails to get out of the city before the spell wears off, he will have to face many drow in battle.
The protagonist can also choose to give Phaere the real eggs, but must then deal with an angry silver dragon.
If the protagonist returns her eggs, Adalon will give her thanks and a magical crossbow as a reward. She will also temporarily transform into a human, and teleport the protagonist to the exit door of the underdark, where he can then return to the surface.
An alternative that skips the whole Drow subplot is to just kill Adalon to obtain an item that allows escape.
