Editing from 2 accounts

Please could you consider making edits only from one account. I notice that you are posting as Kadiddlehopper, but not signing your posts, or removing the automatic signature from SineBot, and replacing it with Dichotomous, a hard-coded signature, as you did here: [1] and elsewhere. This practice can make it difficult to follow a thread, and may be breaching Wikipedia's sock puppetry policy. Why is it necessary? Not every available workstation has a printer or video hardware or software or other necessary accomodations and while the person or persons to whom a workstation has been assigned may be willing for others to use it they may only be willing so long as others do not make any changes to its configuration, whether temporary or not. What is the solution?

The solution to this dilemma is as follows:

In both a multiple user, single or multiple workstation environment it is not always possible as a matter of practical efficiently and for other legitimate reasons for every user to log in and log out repeatedly at every workstation from which a post is made to accommodate Wikipedia thread tracking accuracy, using a workstation only based login system. The solution is a combination user/workstation signature based thread tracking system.

To accurately track threads in a multiple user, workstation environment both a user and a workstation signature are required.

This can be accomplished by Wikipedia reassigning use of the four Tildes signature code as the workstation signature generator (whether manually entered by the user or automatically entered by the SineBot) with the addition of the user name generated from entry of a number/letter code provided by the user to the system (or provided by the system from the user name) on his preference page.

Accommodating this method will completely resolve the problem of user/workstation based thread tracking with maximum efficiency provided for the user in a multiple user, single or multiple workstation environment.

Thanks for your message here and at my talk page. If you would like to suggest a change in how signatures work or how WP tracks users, perhaps the proposals or policy sections of the village pump would be the place to go. If you consider myself or Wikipedia comparable to the Nazis, then you may find another, anonymity-oriented website more to your liking. I won't suggest one, as I may have an ulterior motive. The fact remains that until WP:SOCK changes, Wikipedia frowns on users editing from multiple accounts. Please consider not doing so in the future. --Kateshortforbob 09:55, 9 November 2007(UTC)

1. Contrary to your statement above, editing from multiple accounts is in fact fully and completely supported by the Wikipedia, despite WP:SOCK. Workstations which are not logged in are automatically assigned the IP address to which they are connected as the current user account name no matter how many times the IP address changes for the workstation.
2. As a reality issue and a practical matter in a world where alternate sockets are as fleeting and available as the wind WP:SOCK is not enforceable. The spirit of WP:SOCK is then all that matters. One does not (without some wrongful ulterior motive, see: Nazis or ignorance, see: Pig in a poke) suggest that a manual correction of an automation error is a violation of WP:SOCK, especially when the correction was specifically done for the opposite reason.
3. If you believe that anonymity is absent and not needed here (in light of a system which permits thread tracking) then in response to this message I invite you to give your full real name, address, phone number, date of birth and social security or other government issued identification number such as your drivers license or passport and a recent photograph along with your true and facia political affiliation, instead of hiding or more likely cowering behind your current user name, which in actuality is a deception the true purpose of WP:SOCK would intend to prevent.
