The Aquinas football team won its first New York State Championship in 1998. Notable (active) Sports alumni include Kevin McMahan ("Mr. Irrelevant") and Brian Gionta.

The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Wegman - Napier Building, an extension of the main school building, houses many Science labs for biology and chemistry classes, as well as the "new gym" with its brand new floor, redone over the 2007 summer.
