Hi, Thank you for your questions. No, obviously asking a friend is contrary to the spirit of the autobiography guideline ;). Now, this is a guideline and not a policy, that means that we emphasize that writing about yourself, your company or something you are closely related to is a very bad idea, but it is not forbidden. Again, read the guideline, I think it explains fairly why it is a bad idea. Note that I haven't closely checked whether or not you and your company met our inclusion criteria (My guts tell me that your company does not, but you might be notable). If you decide nevertheless to write about yourself, note that Original Research is not allowed in Wikipedia, we only reproduce facts that are cited by reliable sources independent from the subject. Please also cite your sources. -- lucasbfr <font color="darkblue">talk</font> 18:37, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Re: Linked in
Linked in is a primary source since you are the one filling it, it has no value whatsoever :). (Again Autobiography == bad!). I had a thought, you could ask a wikiproject close to your field of expertise if they think you meet the inclusion criteria, and if they can start an article about you. That's just a thought. -- lucasbfr <font color="darkblue">talk</font> 16:17, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Revision as of 16:17, 5 December 2007

First of all, Hello and Welcome to Wikipedia. I am sending you this message to clear up some misconceptions you seem to have about our encyclopedia:

 • First of all, we are not a free webhost our goal is not to host files for our readers.
 • Secondly, our goal is not to write about everyone and everything. Specifically, there are some notability requirements individuals and companies have to meet in order to be included. This is first of all due to our limited resources, but also because it is near impossible to validate content that is not covered in depth by reliable, secondary sources.
 • Finally, our goal is to remain neutral, and free of advertising. Therefore, we enforce a strong neutral point of view policy, that is also taken into account for 2 other major guidelines, WP:SPAM and our conflict of interest guideline. Namely, is it considered a bad idea to write about you or your company ;).

I have therefore deleted the content you have uploaded on your servers. If you need further help, please don't hesitate to post on my talk page or to put helpme followed by your question on this page. -- lucasbfr talk 18:08, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Publishing process

-- lucasbfr talk 18:37, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
