Jared Nissim is the founder of The Lunch Club, a social networking and activities organization based in New York City. As of February, 2008, the club boasts 15,000+ members, with active chapters in New York, Boston and Dublin. The club began in 2001 and has remained active ever since, having been featured in many major media outlets

In addition to The Lunch Club, Nissim established Meet The Neighbors, which is widely regarded as one of the first internet based social networks geared toward introducing people who live in close proximity to each other, whether in the same apartment building, or neighborhood.

In spite of the fact that Nissim has made it clear that his endeavors are not geared toward helping people find love, many marriages and children have sprung from the club as an unintended side product.

Nissim as a pioneer

Nissim is a pioneer in Social Networking innovation. He began as a node in the Craig's List network until his modest social gatherings gained more serious momentum. He soon recognized the potential to reach many thousands of people, and began his own social networking site called The Lunch Club ([1]). This formalized his transition from a simple node to a sophisticated hub. Both online and through his in-person events, he connects many circles of people primarily in New York City, but also in Boston, London, Dublin and San Francisco.
