Disaster City is a mock community in College Station, Texas. It was created by the Texas Engineering Extension Service for the purpose of urban search and rescue training. Sitting on 52 acres, this community features collapsible structures that are designed to simulate various kinds of disasters and wreckage. It has already hosted several military, federal, state and local search and rescue training teams.[1][2] Among those groups who have used Disaster City as a training ground is the firefighters of Sellafield in the United Kingdom.[3]
