This is a proposed supplement to the existing ITN criteria. A suppose it would be a wp:guideline, but since the ITN criteria is simply criteria, I'm not quite sure.

There is always arguing and adding/removing of sports stories on ITN. As has been suggested (many times) before, this is my attempt to standardize what gets included. Please edit as necessary.

Sports articles are unique from other ITN candidates as we can see them coming and should prepare for them. There is no reason not to have a pre-existing list of approved events. NOTE: This is not intended to preempt other ITN guidelines regarding inclusion such as unusual and particularly important events.

Every entry applies to the conclusion of the tournament or series
