:::Nancy monitors the speedy delete requests. I tagged the KVMX redirect page for speedy delete in order to move the page and she took care of the move for me (sometimes the admins just delete the page and I have to move it myself). I really think the KBKO page should remain a disambiguate page with a listing for KVMX stating it was formerly KBKO-FM, that way they can still get to recently moved article if they happen to type KBKO. Either that or speedy delete KBKO, move KBKO (AM) there (since it has the full edit history) and put a "for the station formerly known as KBKO-FM..." pointer at the top of the page. Disambiguate is probably better though. That's generally how we handle this kind of change. RobDe68 (talk) 00:31, 16 August 2008 (UTC) |

::::Hi guys. Per the messages on my talk page I am more than happy to help but looking at the discussion above and at WP:RM it seems like you haven't yet reached a consensus about the the best way to handle this - i.e. whether to do the move or to do keep KBKO as a disambig page. No need to move KDFO or KRAB.
Radio articles should be named for their official FCC call signs whenever possible. The other page you saw probably had a disambiguation page for the official call sign so they had the add (FM) after the calls. This is not the case with KDFO or KRAB. No need to move these articles. Feel free to visit Wikipedia:WikiProject Radio Stations for further details on radio station naming standards. RobDe68 (talk) 19:18, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
- I don't mind answering a few questions. I'll repeat though that most of the questions regarding station articles can be found at Wikipedia:WikiProject Radio Stations. Look under the section on stations with government issued call signs to fully understand how to name station articles. RobDe68 (talk) 02:45, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Re: Question
Hi, Sorry for not replying earlier (I thought I did, I must have closed the page without saving the page). I see you asked for an account rename so I guess the matter is moot now :). I have unprotected the page. Keep in mind that you're definitely not supposed to move it around ;) (Personally, I prefer keeping my real name low on the Internet, but that's my opinion). -- lucasbfr talk 09:08, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
Re: Protection
My name is Ken Santarelli, I post my name on the internet all the time. Nothing bad has ever happened to me. I have my mobile number all over the internet too, the worse that has happened is that I've gotten a few prank calls. The things I don't give out to people would be my home address, my debit card number, my social security number, etc. Some people just prefer to be cautious. If you like having your username as your real name that is okay, I doubt anybody is going to hunt you down or anything like that. Whammy (talk) 16:06, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
Content of articles is governed by the rules, not by who wrote them
The Wikipedia style guide says to not use the word "currently" without stating "as of when", since the reader has no way to know when the article was written without looking at the history(not all readers have access to the history). As to not modifiying "your" page, the author of a wikipedia or someone affiliated with the subject of the article does not have any more rights over the page than any other. You'll see a very clear message to that effect every time you submit an edit.StreamingRadioGuide (talk) 15:52, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
RE:KBKO-FM
Hey Joe, a few things to mention here. 1: When you leave a response on my talk page sometimes it shows up as one long line that I can't read. I have to modify it to fit the screen. Please preview to make sure I can read it. 2: I take care of many radio station pages from across the country as part of the radio project. I'm from Detroit and am not familiar with the particulars of California radio stations past what I read in All Access. I do like taking care of frequency swaps though so I don't mind that but I leave most of the other updates to the "locals". 3: The only thing I'm not happy about is the bad KBKO logo I used. If you can find a better image, or if you have the old one saved from before the 2 stations originally swapped, I wouldn't mind if you download it to the current image page (it lets you download a new image). Thanks, RobDe68 (talk) 00:06, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:KBKO.PNG)
Thanks for uploading Image:KBKO.PNG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:08, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
re: KVMX
Okay, I wasn't aware of all the changes going on. I'll keep an eye out for when it officially changes and try to help out with the appropriate procedures for moving the page, redirects, etc. Thanks for informing me. ;) Latics 22:29, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
- Alright. I've replaced your statement with the appropriate template with this edit. I'll try keep up with the pages and move them when the time comes. Latics 22:39, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
re: KBKO
I've put in a requested move for the page. So if you would like to follow it, just check Wikipedia:Requested moves#15 August 2008. I'm not sure when an admin will get to it. Latics 23:07, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, Nancy is an admin. I've left a message on the user talk page to see if she could handle the move. :) Latics 23:21, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
- Well, in the event of another station change, we'll know what to do. :P Latics 23:51, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
- Nancy monitors the speedy delete requests. RobDe68 (talk) 00:31, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
