The Right Honourable Sir Charles Tupper (2 July 1821 - 30 October 1915) was born in Amherst, Nova Scotia.


He studied at the University of Edinburgh, becoming a doctor upon his graduation in 1843. In 1846 he married Frances Morse (1826 - 1912) with whom he had three sons and three daughters.


He led the Conservative party from 1896 to 1901 and was Prime Minister of Canada from 1 May 1896 to 8 July 1896.


Sir Tupper died at Bexley Heath, Kent, England.
