Electronic Commerce is a term that has changed over the years. Originally Electronic Commerce meant the faciltitation of commecial transactions electronically usualy using technology like EDI to send comercial Documents like Purchase Orders or Invoices electronically. Nowadays it includes things that may more correctly be termed Web commerce which is the purchase of goods and services over the World Wide Web via Web shop fronts.
