Rene Kirby (born February 27, 1955) is an American film and television actor. He is perhaps best known for his performance in the Farrelly Brothers' film Shallow Hal. In this film he plays the role of Walt, a man who, like Kirby himself, was born with spina bifida.

Athlete
Kirby is an accomplished gymnast and skier; In high school, he was a state champion gymnast. He can ski while doing a handstand, or while holding his legs out front in a sitting position. His usual mode is simply to allow his feet to drag behind. He has skied many times in disabled competitive events. When asked for a category, he simply writes, "World's Only."
