Bart is proud to be working as independent filmmaker where his work with a talented cast and crew lead the creation of Vindication. Vindication is Bart’s directorial feature film debut based on his short movie. Having been a DP for numerous movies, shorts and commercials, Bart wanted to go back to his directing roots this time independently financing and multi-tasking this production to create a chilling coming-of-age psychological horror movie. When Bart was twelve years old his father took him to see [[Friday the 13th part 4 – The Final Chapter]]. It was then Bart was hooked (no pun intended) to make movies. Graduating Hunter College with a B.A. Degree in Film Studies, Bart became a full time teacher in English, Film and also Photography; he began to teach and share with his students about his passion for the visual arts. While teaching, Bart directed numerous theater productions which include A Christmas Carol; Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet; Shakespeare’s Macbeth; and the comedy, Sort of a Christmas Carol. Bart went back to study film, but this time he devoted his time studying cinematography at Rockport College’s Maine Film Workshops where he studied extensively with some of Hollywood’s most professional cinematographers including ASC winners and nominees. |

'Bart Mastronardi' is a director, writer, Director of Photography and producer for his feature length movie Vindication who resides in New York City.
Bart was born in Queens, NY on May 23. Bart is proud to be working as independent filmmaker where his work with a talented cast and crew lead the creation of Vindication. Bart credits some of his major artistic influences who shaped his life and visions to be most notably Clive Barker; Dante Aligheri; Shakespeare; Martin Scorsese; Stephen King; Rembrant;Gustav Dore; John Dugdale; Robert Rodriguez; Steven Speilberg; Conrad Hall, ASC; Ellen Kuras, ASC; Daniel Pearl, ASC and so many others to mention.
As a working cinematographer credits include Alan Rowe Kelly’s award winning feature movie The Blood Shed; Bravo TV’s Shear Genius (NYC casting); the NYC footage for Behind the Chair.com’s documentary Unlocking The Hope featuring and sponsored by legendary hair designer Vidal Sasson. Alan Rowe Kelly’s horrifying short film A Far Cry From Home, which is featured in the Gallery of Fear along with additional photographer for Anthony Sumner’s By Her Hand; other DP credits include numerous short films, music videos and commercials.
It's Bart's work on director Stolis Hadjichalambous' action thriller Crossed that has won Bart rave reviews within the independent film crowd for his cinematography work on the low budget feature film.
Currently he is set to tour his feature film, Vindication, in 2009 at film festivals and most notibly the horror conventions to promote the movie.
When not photography or filming, Bart currently teaches Camera and Lighting at the New York Film Academy and he is proud to be a native New Yorker.
