It consists of six puroks and each one contributes a lot for the development of the entire barangay. |

Fishing and farming are the major occupation of this barangay. So it can't be denied that almost all the people who lived here are really hardworking. |

This barangay has a lot of beaches.Namely,Purmerong Cambagjo(first Cambagjo),Ikaduhang Cambagjo (second Cambagjo,)and ikatulong Cambagjo(third Cambagjo) |

The fiesta celebration falls in every December 3 honoring Saint San Francisco de Javier. Although during the celebration or a days before the celebration it always experienced a typhoon but still its ended with joy and happiness through the cooperation extended by the Melgaranon. |

Melgaranon comes with a variety of races- almost 80% of its population comes outside the barangay. Purok 1- from TACLOBAN and SAMAR. Purok 4,5,6, from NEGROS, CEBU and DAVAO. Purok 2,3, are the Puroks whose major population comes within the barangay.(LUMAD) |

Melgar has also a lot of PBMA or [[Philippine Benevolent Missionaries Association]] members almost 60% of the total population is a member of this association. They called their assembly area as Melgar Chapter. |
