James Acho, also known as Jim Acho is an American attorney and sports editor.

Acho has gained moderate media attention for his "All Name Team," an annual list that comprises the top 100 names in college football. He compiled his list for 20 seasons before discontinuing it in 2007. Acho's list frequently appeared in The Detroit News and on ESPN.

Biography

Acho practices law at the law firm of Cummings, McClorey, Davis & Acho. In 2003, he represented Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Larry Foote on a disorderly person charge following a brawl at a restaurant.[1][2] From 2004 to 2007, he was one of the attorneys who represented former Major League Baseball players seeking pensions and medical benefits.[3][4]

In 2007, Acho represented University of Michigan defensive end Brandon Graham on a disorderly conduct charge.[5] He also serves as an agent for the University of Michigan football program.[6] Acho represented NFL alumni against Gene Upshaw and the NFLPA in a battle over improved pension and medical benefits and appeared on ESPN Radio to discuss Upshaw's death.[7][8]

Personal life

Acho graduated from University of St. Francis in 1993. He lives in Farmington Hills, Michigan with his wife Shari and daughter Meghan. He is friends with American comedians Randy and Jason Sklar, who have referred to him while guest hosting The Jim Rome Show. ESPN's Howie Schwab has also referred to Acho multiple times on Stump the Schwab and ESPN.
