Achatinellidae is a family of tropical air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the order Stylommatophora.

Taxonomy

This is the only family in the superfamily Achatinelloidea (according to the taxonomy of the Gastropoda by Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005).

Anatomy

In this family, the number of haploid chromosomes varies from 16 to 25 (according to the values in this table).[1]

Distribution

This family is widely distributed in the Pacific islands. They are at their most diverse in the Hawaiian group.[2]
