There are many Filipino myths and legends, most of which are old and have been passed down through generations. There are ghost stories, about legendary creatures like the Aswang, and also folk tales such as The Legend of the Banana and The Legend of the Firefly. Most are about how some things came to be, such as the creation of the earth and man.

The myth aswang came from our ancient ancestor through their norms and practices as they wanted to protect their children in their barrio.
