- From 1961 to 1965 studied in Slavyanskiy technical college.
- Soviet army since 1965 to 1968 (Tbilisi, Yerevan).
- From 1969 to 1974 - studied in Kharkov Polytechnical Institute.
- 1979-1985 - studied in Saint Petersburg Imperial Academy of Arts.
- In 1974-1976 started a well know art group "Vremya group" ("Time") in Kharkov.
- From 1971 to 1985 worked as a correspondent for "TASS", "Evening Kharkov", "Red Flag", Kharkov advertising combine.
- In 1990-1993 together with Aleksandr Maziuk opens up the first USSR private gallery in Tallinn, Estonia - "MRK".
- From 1994 to 2001 - managing director of the stock photo agency - "Rupincom".

- Jury Rupin is the founder of an art group "Vremya group" - well known both in Ukraine and the USSR (1974-1976).
- The group has consisted of such photographers as Eugeny Pavlov, Oleg Malevanny, Aleksandr Suprun, Gennady Tubalev, Boris Mikhailov, Aleksandr Sitnichenko and later - Anatoly Makienko.
