Tribble

In the original television series, Star Trek, there was an episode titled "The Trouble with Tribbles," in which Captain Kirk and his crew face a curious problem about small, soft, furry, gentle, armless, legless, headless, purring, and altogether pleasant creatures known as "tribbles." The trouble is that they reproduce far too quickly and threaten to clog up essential ship systems.
