Souryam (Template:Lang-te) is a 2008 Telugu film directed by cinematographer-turned-director J. Siva Kumar, who makes his directorial debut. The film stars Gopichand in the main lead.

Cast

Plot

Vijay (Gopichand) comes to Kolkata in search of his lost sister (Poonam Kaur). He incidentally gets caught in a mini fight between Orissa goons and chops a mans arm off. They later run away. Vijay goes to a college in Kolkata to apply for a job and he is asked to get a signature in the sports quota. He later meets Gymson[Ali] and finds out he is the strongest teacher in the college. He later gets caught into and becomes responsible for a naughty college girl Swetha[Anushka Shetty]. Soon, they fall in love. One day, a goons son finds that he wants revenge on Vijay. At a party, he tortures Swetha and asks if she wants to rape and later he follows Divya. Then he finds a man came to rescue Divya, who is apparently Vijay. Vijay kills the goons and the goons son, not leaving any mercy. Then Vijay's story is told in flashback's and the reason is because of a local don named Shivaram Gaud[Manoj.K.Jayan]] and he is the father of the goon's son Vijay killed and the rest of the story is the struggle between them.
