The 1989 Michigan State Spartans football team represented Michigan State University in the 1989-1990 college football season. The Spartans play their home games at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, Michigan. The Spartans were coached by George Perles.

The Spartans were coming off of a 6 win season and a bowl loss.
